The 2025 Calgary Invitational Elementary Spelling Bee will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Webber Academy.

Looking to start expanding your vocabulary in preparation for the Spelling Bee? Check out the 2025 Word List here.

There are two divisions of the Spelling Bee. Division 1 is for children in Grades 1–3. Division 2 is for children in Grades 4–6.

If your school is hosting a qualifying Spelling Bee, your child must qualify through that competition for you to register your child in the Calgary Invitational Spelling Bee. If your child's school is not hosting a qualifying Spelling Bee, you may register your child once the registration link opens in mid-February. There is a maximum of 3 children per school in each Division.

Please note: The Rounds go up in difficulty.  All words on the lists can be used - for either Division. After the first several rounds, words are chosen from non-published lists.
