WEBBER ACADEMY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Webber Academy opened in 1997, but it wasn’t until 2005 that we celebrated our first graduating class. Since then, over 880 students have walked across the stage and out into the world. The graduating classes have grown in size steadily over the past 22 years, and in that short time, we are amazed at what our alumni have achieved.

PRESIDENT’S BREAKFAST CLUB SPEAKER SERIES - FEATURED ALUMNI
The Webber Academy President’s Breakfast Club is a live keynote speaker series that takes place in our Performing Arts Theatre multiple times a year. Senior School students are invited to enjoy a breakfast by Chef Thuy and her team before heading into the theatre to hear a special guest present. The speakers are selected by the administration team at Webber Academy and are chosen based on relevance, inspiration, knowledge, and life lessons that would be valuable for the senior school student population to hear. The event has been taking place at Webber Academy for more than a decade. It has featured a past prime minister, astronauts, CEOs, musicians, entrepreneurs, doctors, authors, scientists, and even our alumni.
ALUMNI AT WEBBER ACADEMY
Webber Academy started the university and career symposium to bring alumni back to share their unique experiences on the transition from Webber Academy to university and beyond with the current high school population. This event also provides the opportunity for alumni to reconnect with Webber Academy – to see what has changed and to catch up with some of their peers, as well as teachers. Furthermore, the symposium allows Webber Academy students to see first-hand how valued and welcomed they will be as alumni, and to network with some of the presenters.
Each year, approximately 14 alumni return to share their experiences and advice. The format of the symposium consists of three classroom presentations to small groups of students, selected on their interests, and theatre presentations to the entire senior high student body. The presentations consist of a 10-minute formal presentation and a 10-minute Q and A session. This allows alumni to share what they feel is more pertinent about their field and students are able to ask questions. The theatre presentations tend to focus on the ‘bigger picture’ such as the power of asking for help, how to ensure you augment your education with relevant experience, and what first-year university is really like.
Michnowski from the Webber Academy Class of 2014 came by to say hello today. Josh now lives in Los Angeles and works in the financial sector at Guggenheim Partners. Last year, he sponsored two year-end scholarships for Grade 12 students, named after his parents. The Elizabeth A. and Martin Cohos Scholarship for Design and Society is a $500 scholarship given to a student who demonstrates a passion to shape the physical world in order to advance society and help others. The Jeffrey Michnowski Financial Markets Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded to a high-achieving student who demonstrates a passion for the financial markets in order to advance society and help others.
